(1) Storage and maintenance
Improper storage is one of the important reasons for the damage of power station valves.
For the storage of power station valves, they must not be piled up randomly. Small power station valves should be placed on the shelves, while large ones can be neatly arranged on the floor of the warehouse. The flange connection surfaces should not touch the ground. Protect the power station valves from being damaged.
For power station valves that are not to be used in the short term, the asbestos packing should be removed to prevent electrochemical corrosion and damage to the valve stem.
For the power station valves just entering the warehouse, they should be inspected. If rainwater or dirt has entered during transportation, they should be wiped clean before being stored.
The inlet and outlet of the power station valves should be sealed with wax paper or plastic sheets to prevent dirt from entering.
Anti-rust oil should be applied to the machined surfaces of power station valves that can rust in the atmosphere for protection.
Power station valves placed outdoors must be covered with items such as oilcloth or tarpaulin to prevent rain and dust. The warehouse for storing power station valves should be kept clean and dry.
(II) Use and Maintenance
The purpose of use and maintenance is to extend the service life of power station valves and ensure reliable opening and closing.
The valve stem thread often rustles against the valve stem nut. A little grease or graphite powder should be applied to lubricate it.
For power station valves that are not frequently opened or closed, the handwheel should be turned regularly to apply lubricant to the valve stem threads to prevent them from seizing.
For outdoor power station valves, protective sleeves should be added to the valve stems to prevent rust and dirt from rain, snow and dust.
If the power station valves are mechanically driven, lubricating oil should be added to the gearbox on time and the power station valves should be kept clean.
Do not rely on the power station valve to support other heavy objects, and do not stand on the power station valve.
The valve stem, especially the threaded part, should be cleaned frequently and new lubricants should be added to prevent hard debris in the dust from wearing the threaded and valve stem surfaces and affecting their service life.
